Jeanne (Gault) Hinojosa
Jeanne with husband Michael
Wow 50 years!
I have been Jeanne Hinojosa since 1980 and am happy to be so. I am retired for the past 6 years and loving it. I have a garden every year and some fruit trees. I started golfing when I retired and am part of a little women's club in Cottage Grove, Oregon. My husband, Michael is a building contractor, works by himself. He does the heavy stuff like retaining walls, rock and stone. He redid our house that we bought for a song and don't plan on moving til we go. My daughter Wendy who had the head injury car accident in 1989 lives in Cottage Grove and is doing really well for her circumstance. She is disabled but does a great job at living with it.
We took on two Labrador puppies in November and that has been a change and a challenge. Our last dog passed in 2001. I like to do wood working projects and cook and eat! I've worked physically hard my whole life so am reaping the consequences of that like we all do at our ages.
I never had a clear picture or goal to be a certain something when we left high school. I did a lot of secretarial work, still do that for our golf group. I did a lot of physically oriented jobs and was a firefighter for 10 years in our little town. I sewed a lot in my life and still do a good amount of repairing on things around here. I've always liked
craft projects as most of us do.
I didn't have grandchildren because of Wendy's accident so have missed out on that part of a life! Dogs and cats always.
My faith in God has always been a big part of life so church and faith based women's groups have been the framework of who I am.
Humor is such a big part of our lives and has been a strength each day. I have a lovely husband who causes me to laugh a lot as we are growing through the stuff that life brings.
Love Jeanne
