Nancy (Trojan) Walendy

Nancy Trojan

I will remarry on October 20,  2012 and I will not be attending the reunion, but did wish to share my good news at this time.  At age 68, we decided to take the honeymoon first and just returned from three weeks in France, visiting Paris for a week then renting a car and touring the Loire River valley and its' charming castles and medieval villages.  I'd recommend a visit to anyone and we plan to return.  Tom has cousins who live in Alsace and our treat was to observe a stork and her hatchlings atop one of the town's power poles.  Storks are revered in the area, especially in the tiny town of Weits Villier where residents look forward to their return each year.

I retired five years ago from a thirty year teaching career, working in several grade levels from preschool to high school.  My main focus was special education and remedial education.  I received my masters' degree in curriculum and administration but have always preferred working in the classroom rather than at administrative levels.

Retirement has been just as fulfilling , giving me more time to devote to my own pottery work as well as teaching pottery and clay in my home.  I've lived in Loomis for the past 25 years; a move to Humboldt County will provide new challenges and adventure.  My son and his family (two grandchildren) live in Eureka so the move will mean more time to watch the grandchildren's growth.  We all enjoy kayaking, hiking and birdwatching and the area provides some of the best of all three.
